Congratulations to all of our shooters over the last two weekends who had terrific varsity matches, retaining all three cups! The Heslop (1st VIII) was won with a score of 1525 to Oxfords 1498 and Bentata (ladies’ IV) with 753 to 718. Congratulations to Fergus for top scoring; to Fergus, Barty, and Katherine for achieving full blue scores; to James, Amy, and Barty for their first CUSBC half blues; and to Kristina for being awarded Club Colours. Well done to Al Clark too for wining the unofficial reserve shoot, 188 to 180. Profound thanks are given to the CUSBC adjutants, Dom and Al, for their diligence in checking equipment, for maintaining a jovial, avuncular manner to reassure nervous firers, and for deeply confusing Oxford by arriving in one of their half-blue blazers. Many thanks also go to Mr Kevin Pilcher of the Perse School, for his generous provision of the range, and to the Perse School catering for the marvellous spread laid on for the teams. We were back again at the Perse the following week for the Kensington (2nd VIII), where we scored another resounding victory of 1479 to Oxford's 1434. A particular congratulations to Duncan for his impressive score of 191, which would have been a half-blue score in a 1st team match, and thank you to Dom for captaining the team. The inter-collegiate ‘Cuppers’ tournament was also contested concurrently, with Alice and Duncan of Emmanuel College winning with a score of 382 ex. 400, with the runners-up Pembroke and Churchill 3 and 12 points behind respectively. Congratulations again to everyone who shot, and a huge thank you to Oxford for the competition and for travelling all the way here! Until the next time, GDBO
